According to the annual rating that is made by the Sociology Department of the Finance University under the Government of Russia, the regional capital ranked fourth among 38 large and medium-sized Russian cities.
According to the RBC News Agency, Krasnodar was at the similar ranking spot as in the previous study of the Russians’ quality of life conducted by the Department. To compile the rating, experts used three different approaches.
Firstly, the researchers assessed the level of material well-being, quality of medical care and access to good education by using the Rosstat statistics and public opinion polls. Secondly, factors that Russians themselves consider to be important to determine how their city is suitable for life were analyzed, such as quality of the housing stock, provision of urban amenities and a road sector state. Thirdly, the balance of population migration was reviewed. It should be noted that Krasnodar ranked second on this indicator and on assessment of public satisfaction with their lives as a whole.
