At the request of the Governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratyev, a new transportation scheme that will enable to relieve a traffic congestion on the way to the sea is being developed in the region.
According to the Head of the region, the new transport logistics, alternative motorways will allow to address the problem of traffic jams for the holiday season as well as to resolve the issue related to speed limits across the territory of Kuban. At this, the Head of the region repeatedly stressed that new motorways could be constructed within the scope of public & private partnership while new highways would be the paid ones.
The prospect of implementing an investment project on the construction of a toll alternative highway at the Black Sea coast from the village of Chernigovskoye to the settlement of Degums became the subject of the working meeting held in the Administration of the region. Sergey Altukhov, Vice-Governor of Krasnodar region, and reps from Standke Group Company (FRG) attended the meeting.
– As was repeatedly emphasized by the Governor, the construction of this motorway is a strategically critical step not only for Kuban, but also for Russia, at large, - reiterated Sergey Altukhov, Deputy Head of the region, in his welcome speech. – The project implementation will enable to decongest the only existing motorway throughout the Black Sea coast and will provide opportunities for development of mountain resorts in the southern and south-western parts of Apsheron district, mountain resort Lagonaki due to the short access to the Black Sea coast.
It is assumed that the toll motorway will bypass the specifically protected territory of Caucasian State Nature Biosphere Reserve. The total length of the alternative highway will make 115 kilometers. Upon its establishment, it is planned to construct bridges, overpasses and tunnels. Moreover, the highway might be part of a tourist route since it will pass at a distance of 7 kilometers from Guam canyon and 10 kilometers – from highlands Lagonaki, not far from the mountain peaks, picturesque lakes, waterfalls and river basins.
In his turn, the manager from Standke Group Company Ilya Standke stated that the company has extensive experience in the construction of ports, transportation infrastructure of airports, subways, social facilities and motorways.
- We have expertise in the construction of highways in other countries, - stressed manager of the German company. – Hopefully, we can apply it in Russia. However, primarily we need government guarantees in order to commence the construction.
As reported by the Press-Service of the Administration of the region, the parties agreed to jointly develop an economic model of the project on the establishment of an alternative highway, implementation roadmap and to discuss the preferable options that the administration of the region can guarantee to the investor. Today Standke Group reps will visit Sochi to inspect the sites for implementation of the project on the construction of an alternative motorway.
Apart from this, during the visit the investors were acquainted with the port infrastructure of the city of Novorossiysk, attended smelters and machine-building enterprises of the region as well as conducted a series of negotiations on the development of projects in the agricultural sector.
For a reminder: in October a business-mission of the delegation from Lower Saxony, incorporating over 40 reps from the Ministry of economy of that region and the industrial and agricultural companies, will visit Kuban.
