The first Russian-Austrian business-forum launched in Sochi

Karin Kneissl, Federal Minister of Austria on Affaires of Europe, migration and Foreign Affairs, and Governor Veniamin Kondratyev took part in the opening ceremony. 

Karin Kneissl noted that at the Forum the participants will be able to focus on the matters in economy, research developments, joint projects in sport, art, music and education.

– Sochi forum focuses on a dialogue for the purpose of enhancing synergy between business communities of Russia and Austria for the benefit of mutual understanding, - told the Minister.

When greeting the participants, Veniamin Kondratyev noted that for the region it is a great honor for the first time to host a Russian-Austrian forum of public «Sochi dialogue».

– Sochi is a southern capital of the country. It is a cultural and political site where global events take place. Here one can speak out and come to terms, listen and understand each other, - told the Governor. An open-minded, honest conversation will contribute to harmonization of the society, help to find new touch points, build up credibility and mutual understanding of different layers and social groups in the society.  

Veniamin Kondratyev underscored that Kuban and Austria are long-term reliable partners with well-tuned cultural and scientific ties. The collaboration also addresses such areas as construction, industry and recycling.  According to the Governor, it is crucial that business is engaged into this dialogue.

For reminder, over seven years more than 10.2 billion US dollars in direct foreign investment came to the economy of Krasnodar region. In 2018 a first countrywide multifunctional center for foreign investors Welcome-Center was established. For foreign partners it constitutes a whole range of various services necessary for setting up business or development of projects in the region
